spectraCRYPT®
spectraCRYPT® is a combination of the words SPECTRUM and CRYPTOGRAPHY
Spectra (plural of spectrum) "appearance" or "image" from Latin specere ‘to look at’
The scientific meaning of spectrum is the distribution of a characteristic of a physical system or phenomenon, especially the distribution of energy emitted by a radiant, arranged in order of wavelengths, e. g. the rainbow of colors in visible light when separated using a prism. Nowadays the word has been applied by analogy to many fields other than optics to describe a broad sequence or range of related qualities, ideas, or activities. Thus, one might talk about the spectrum of political opinion, or the spectrum of the application of a product.
Cryptography (from Greek κρυπτός, kryptos, "hidden, secret"; and γράφω, gráphō, "I write", or -λογία) is the practice and study of hiding information.
The combination of both meanings in the name spectraCRYPT® stands for a spectrum of products, especially inks, that are created to add hidden information or marks to an object and thus, value and trust.
